AI Mindful helps you save learning insights, reflect, and revisit them through recall. It stores learning topics, your inputs and AI conversations, saved selections, source URLs and page titles, revisions, reflections, connections, review dates, self-ratings, learning activity events and settings in the current browser. Records remain until you delete them or clear the extension's browser data. Uninstalling may remove local records.
The extension receives selected text and its page URL and title only when you actively use the context-menu save action. It does not automatically read entire pages, all chats, or your complete browsing history. Text you choose to save may include personal communications; choose carefully what you capture.
The built-in offline neural-network example sends no AI requests. If you configure real AI and actively send a request, relevant topics, recent conversations, selected text, insights or reflections are sent to your own local bridge at http://127.0.0.1:4318. The bridge sends the relevant request to the OpenAI API over HTTPS. Your local connection token is kept in session storage for the panel session and used to authenticate to the local bridge. The OpenAI API key is read from the bridge's local environment; it is not bundled with the extension. The bridge requests store:false, which is not a promise of zero retention by OpenAI. Provider processing and retention depend on your service account and the provider's policies.
Data is used to provide learning records, AI assistance requested by you, reflection and review scheduling. There is no developer-operated cloud sync, advertising, analytics upload, sale of user data, or creditworthiness/lending use. The developer does not automatically receive your learning records. Data transfers to your configured AI provider occur only to provide the learning assistance you request. AI Mindful's use and transfer of information follows the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. Data is not used for personalized advertising or unrelated purposes.
You can export a backup, import a backup, delete individual records, or clear records in Settings & data. Export before uninstalling or clearing browser data. Exported files may contain learning content and source URLs; you control where you keep or share them. Turning on the offline example avoids model requests. Removing local records does not delete requests already processed by an external provider; contact that provider for its controls. Opening a source link subjects that visit to the destination site's policies.
